What do I need to connect a Square Credit Card Terminal?
An active Square Payments merchant account.
Your Square account is connected to Detail Bookie.
One or more Square Terminals, available for purchase direct from Square.
Your Square Terminal is charged, connected to WIFI, and not signed in to your Square account.
Steps to pair your Square Terminal with Detail Bookie
Step 1: Unbox and charge your Square Terminal.
Unbox your Square Terminal.
Charge the battery and power it on.
Connect it to your WIFI network.
Allow it to finish any software updates.
Step 2: Get a code to pair your Square Terminal with Detail Bookie
Log in to your back office.
Navigate to Set Up > Square Integration V2 > Manage Square Terminal.
Select the Pair a Square Terminal button.
Step 3: Choose a name for your device
Decide on a unique name for this Square Terminal. If you might have multiple card terminals, it's important that you can tell them apart. When you take a payment, Detail Bookie will ask you which of your card terminals to use for the payment.
It's a great idea to go ahead and label your card terminal right now.
Tell Detail Bookie what name you want to use for your device, and choose the Get Device Code button.
Step 4: Sign in with the device code
Note the device code provided by Detail Bookie
Wake up your Square Terminal, choose the Sign In button, and use the Sign In With a Device Code option.
Step 5: Finish up
Confirm your device is paired with Detail Bookie by checking the Manage Square Terminals page. Your device should be listed there, and shown as available.
