Questions and Answers

Q: I processed a payment, but the payment does not appear on the job ticket.

This payment method leaves Detail Bookie in the web browser to process the payment in the Square POS App. Detail Bookie is able to confirm the payment details when the App sends you back to Detail Bookie in web browser.

In most cases, you will automatically see the Detail Bookie confirmation screen after completing a payment. If you take other actions in the Square App before that confirmation page is loaded, Square may never inform Detail Bookie about the payment.

To ensure the payment is recorded in Detail Bookie, always wait for the Detail Bookie confirmation screen before locking your device, or using other apps on your device.

Q: The Square App opens, but immediately closes and I see an error message.

Check the following problems that can cause the Square App to close instead of processing a transcation:

  • The Square POS App on your device is out of date. We cannot process a transaction on an out of date Square POS App. Update your Square App.

  • Your Square account is not activated for payments. Visit https://squareup.com/activate

  • Detail Bookie is not connected to your square account. See the Square Payments Set Up Guide

  • You are signed in to a different Square account on the Square POS App then the account you activated with Detail Bookie.
