How to fix iOS Safari forgetting my log in

Troubleshooting steps if your iPhone is not remembering your Detail Bookie login between browsing sessions.

Your browser should remember your Detail Bookie login for 30 days. If your phone is forgetting your login, try these troubleshooting steps.

Check For Private Browsing Mode

When Safari is in private browsing mode, your phone is set to forget your login when you leave the browser.

If yourself or someone else switched your phone into private browsing mode, it will stay that way until you switch back to normal browsing mode.

  1. Open Safari.

  2. Click on the Tabs icon in the bottom right of the browser menu.

  3. Make sure "Private" is not selected at the bottom of the Tabs panel.

Check Your Phone Is Up To Date

Some older versions of Safari on iPhone had bugs related to storing session cookies. Make sure your phone is working well by keeping it up to date.

  1. Open the Settings app

  2. Navigate to > Settings > General > Software Update

  3. Use the "Update Now" button

Check if your iPhone is using a Privacy VPN

Many VPN products that advertise themselves as protecting your privacy may interfere with Safari remembering your website login.

If your phone is using a VPN, temporarily disable it to see if it solves the problem.

To check if your phone has been set up for a VPN:

1. Look for the text VPN in the stop status bar of your phone

2. In the iPhone settings app, search for "VPN & Device Management" or simply "VPN" from the settings search box, then check for if your have VPN profiles set up, or if any VPN settings show a "Connected" status

Check additional custom settings

If your iPhone still does not remember your Detail Bookie login, check these settings.

Safari Settings

Check settings under Settings > Apps > Safari

  1. Look at the Extensions settings page. Temporarily disable any installed extensions, to find out if they are deleting your browser cookies.

  2. Disable the "Share Across Devices" setting. This ensures any other linked phones, ipads or computers do not affect your phone browser behavior.

  3. In Safari Advanced settings, make sure "Advanced Tracking and Fingerprint Protection" is turned off. That setting will throw away your website login between sessions.

  4. In Safari Advanced settings, make sure "Block All Cookies" is turned off. Your login is saved as a browser cookie, if you block cookies your login will be discarded.

  5. Try clearing history and data with the "Clear History and Website Data" button.
